Sinners to Saints: Invited to Make a Deal With God
Sept 17, 2023
How do we transition from sinners to saints, unholy to holy, hell bound to
Heaven bound?
We start with the revelation that God can and does turn sinners into saints.
More than a sinner saved by grace, we become joint heir with Yeshua the
Messiah.
You must become aware that you are also being drafted in to an army that’s been
waring against evil for thousands of years. Now that you’re going to do good, evil
will be present. You have become an enemy of satan and therefore a threat to his
diabolical agenda.
If you’re trying to hold on to your private citizenry, you’re not going to survive
the war. We must move from the “I just got to be me” mentality to the “ I just got
to be me in God” mentality. It’s the best you that you will ever see.
Although, God is capable of removing every painful moment of our lives, He
prove us and allows us to grow by the challenging heart wrenching moments of
great disappointments.
The world needs to know that there are somethings GOD wants them to know and
that enemy works hard for them not to know. Don’t let the devil use you to help
people stay ignorant of God’s wisdom and blessings.
You ain’t what you is gone be.
God makes us an offer we should not refuse.
Sagacity – foresight, discernment, or keen perception; ability to make good judgments.
John 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name [was] John. 7The same came
for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all [men] through him might believe.
8He was not that Light, but [was sent] to bear witness of that Light.
9[That] was the TRUE Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12But as many as received
him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe
on his name: 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of
the will of man, but of God.
The Word Made His Dwelling among Us
Psalm 84:1-12
14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father, ) full of grace and truth. 15John bare
witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after
me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16And of his fulness have all we
received, and grace for grace. 17For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and
truth came by Jesus Christ. 18No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten
Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].
More Than Head Knowledge (divine revelation is needed)
John 3:1There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a
teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God
be with him. 3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except
a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the
second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I
say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into
the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born
of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8The
wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell
whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? 10Jesus answered
and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have
seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe
not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you [of] heavenly things? 13And no man hath ascended
up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which
is in heaven. 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the
Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have eternal life.
Spiritual Blessings
Romans 8:28-34
Eph 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed
us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ: 4According as he hath
chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and
without blame before him in love: 5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of
children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6To
the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according
to the riches of his grace; 8Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all
wisdom and prudence; 9Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according
to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10That in the
dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ,
both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; [even] in him: 11In whom also we
have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him
who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: 12That we should be to the
praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also [trusted], after that
ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye
believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14Which is the earnest of
our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his
glory.
Prayer for Spiritual Wisdom
15Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the
saints, 16Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give {5630} unto
you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18The eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling,
and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19And what [is] the
exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of
his mighty power, 20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead,
and set [him] at his own right hand in the heavenly [places], 21Far above all principality,
and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in
this world, but also in that which is to come: 22And hath put all [things] under his feet,
and gave him [to be] the head over all [things] to the church, 23Which is his body, the
fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work
of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13Till we all come in
the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect
man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14That
we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every
wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in
wait to deceive; 15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things,
which is the head, [even] Christ: 16From whom the whole body fitly joined together
and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working
in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in
love.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same
Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be saved.
14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall
they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without
a preacher? 15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How
beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings
of good things!
16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed
our report? 17So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Too often we as humans, have become to proud to accept God’s way of doing
things because it does not make sense to our carnally corrupt minds.
1 Cor 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto
us which are saved it is the power of God.
19For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing
the understanding of the prudent.
20Where [is] the wise? where [is] the scribe? where [is] the disputer of this world?
hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21For after that in the wisdom
of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of
preaching to save them that believe. 22For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks
seek after wisdom: 23But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock,
and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24But unto them which are called, both Jews and
Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
The Foolish to Shame the Wise
25Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is
stronger than men.
26For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not
many mighty, not many noble, [are called]: 27But God hath chosen the foolish things
of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world
to confound the things which are mighty; 28And base things of the world, and things
which are despised, hath God chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to
nought things that are: 29That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30But of him are
ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification,
and redemption: 31That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him
glory in the Lord.
Prudent- “personal” understanding that results from correlating facts (concepts),
i.e. as understanding works in keeping with one’s own perspective.
“Personal comprehension” (4908 /synetós) however is only sound when it follows
God’s word. 4908 /synetós (“understanding”) apart from faith (“God’s inbirthed
persuasions”) simply expresses the limitations (biases) of the thinker
Wisdom from the Spirit of God
1 Cor 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom
of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7But we speak the
wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before
the world unto our glory: 8Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they
known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the
heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things,
yea, the deep things of God. 11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the
spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit
of God. 12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is
of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13Which
things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the
Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness
unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have
the mind of Christ.
Redemption through His Blood
Heb 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater
and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once
into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us]. 13For if the blood
of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth
to the purifying of the flesh: 14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who
through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience
from dead works to serve the living God?
15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death,
for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they
which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. 16For where a
testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17For a testament
[is] of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the
testator liveth. 18Whereupon neither the first [testament] was dedicated without blood.
19For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he
took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and
sprinkled both the book, and all the people, 20Saying, This [is] the blood of the testament
which God hath enjoined unto you. 21Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the
tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. 22And almost all things are by the law
purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Alive with Christ
Eph 2:1 And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2Wherein
in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of
the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh,
fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of
wrath, even as others. 4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith
he loved us, 5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with
Christ, (by grace ye are saved; ) 6And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us]
sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus: 7That in the ages to come he might
shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward us through Christ
Jesus. 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is]
the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained
that we should walk in them.
Suffering as Christians
1 Pet 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you,
as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are
partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be
glad also with exceeding joy. 14If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy [are
ye]; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken
of, but on your part he is glorified. 15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or [as]
a thief, or [as] an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. 16Yet if [any man
suffer] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
17For the time [is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if [it] first
[begin] at us, what shall the end [be] of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18And
if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of
their souls [to him] in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Matt 13:18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. 19When any one heareth
the word of the kingdom, and understandeth [it] not, then cometh the wicked
[one], and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which
received seed by the way side. 20But he that received the seed into stony places,
the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21Yet hath
he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution
ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. 22He also that received
seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the
deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. 23But he that received
seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth [it];
which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some
thirty.
Isa 1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before
mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed,
judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as
scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall
be as wool. 19If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20But
if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the
LORD hath spoken [it].
Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed
me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are]
bound;
2To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all that mourn;
3To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the
oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they
might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be
glorified.
Rest for the Weary
Luke 10:21-24
Matt 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of
heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and
hast revealed them unto babes. 26Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
27All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the
Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and [he] to whomsoever the
Son will reveal [him].
28Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and
ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.
Abraham Receives the Promise
Genesis 15:8-21; Numbers 34:1-15
Rom 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, [was] not to Abraham,
or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14For if
they which are of the law [be] heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none
effect: 15Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, [there is] no transgression.
16Therefore [it is] of faith, that [it might be] by grace; to the end the promise might be
sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the
faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, 17(As it is written, I have made thee a
father of many nations, ) before him whom he believed, [even] God, who quickeneth
the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. 18Who against
hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to
that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19And being not weak in faith, he considered
not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither
yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: 20<1161> He staggered not at the promise of God
through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21And being fully persuaded
that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22And therefore it
was imputed to him for righteousness. 23Now it was not written for his sake alone,
that it was imputed to him; 24But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe
on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 25Who was delivered for our
offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Heir- someone who inherits.
Christ’s Sacrifice for the Ungodly
Genesis 22:1-10; John 3:16-21
Rom 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man
some would even dare to die. 8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while
we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9Much more then, being now justified by his
blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10For if, when we were enemies,
we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we
shall be saved by his life. 11And not only [so], but we also joy in God through our
Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Heirs with Christ
Genesis 21:1-8; Galatians 4:1-7
Rom 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the
deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they
are the sons of God. 15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear;
but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16The
Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17And
if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we
suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.
Future Glory
2 Corinthians 5:1-10
18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time [are] not worthy [to be compared]
with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19For the earnest expectation of the creature
waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20For the creature was made
subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected [the same] in
hope, 21Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption
into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole
creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23And not only [they], but
ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within
ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body. 24For we are
saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he
yet hope for? 25But if we hope for that we see not, [then] do we with patience wait for
[it].
The Word of Life
Luke 24:36-43; John 20:19-23
1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have
seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the
Word of life; 2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness,
and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested
unto us; ) 3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may
have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son
Jesus Christ. 4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
Walking in the Light
John 8:12-30
5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that
God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with
him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7But if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus
Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive
ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that
we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Jesus is Our Advocate
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if
any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2And
he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the
whole world.
3And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that
saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in
him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby
know we that we are in him. 6He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to
walk, even as he walked.
A New Heaven and a New Earth
Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first
earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2And I John saw the holy city,
new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned
for her husband. 3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle
of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his
people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God. 4And God shall wipe
away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor
crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto
me, Write: for these words are TRUE and faithful. 6And he said unto me, It is done. I
am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of
the fountain of the water of life freely. 7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and
I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the
abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all
liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is
the second death.
The New Jerusalem
9And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of
the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the
bride, the Lamb’s wife.
10And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed
me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11Having
the glory of God: and her light [was] like unto a stone most precious, even like a
jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12And had a wall great and high, [and] had twelve
gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are [the
names] of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13On the east three gates; on
the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14And
the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve
apostles of the Lamb.
15And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates
thereof, and the wall thereof. 16And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as
large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs.
The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17And he measured
the wall thereof, an hundred [and] forty [and] four cubits, [according to] the measure
of a man, that is, of the angel. 18And the building of the wall of it was [of] jasper:
and the city [was] pure gold, like unto clear glass. 19And the foundations of the wall
of the city [were] garnished with all manner of precious stones.
Cast Your Cares on Him
1 Pet 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you] be
subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud,
and giveth grace to the humble.
6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you
in due time: 7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8Be sober, be
vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking
whom he may devour: 9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same
afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Benediction and Final Greetings
10But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus,
after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].
11To him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Grace, Favor
From chairo; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal,
figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its

Warning against Pride
James 4:1 From whence [come] wars and fightings among you? [come they] not
hence, [even] of your lusts that war in your members? 2Ye lust, and have not: ye kill,
and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye
ask not. 3Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon
your lusts. 4Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world
is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of
God. 5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth
in us lusteth to envy? 6But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God
resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Drawing Near to God
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from
you. 8Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye]
sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded. 9Be afflicted, and mourn, and
weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and [your] joy to heaviness. 10Humble
yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
11Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of [his] brother, and
judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the
law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. 12There is one lawgiver, who is able
to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
Do Not Boast about Tomorrow
13Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue
there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14Whereas ye know not what [shall be] on
the morrow. For what [is] your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time,
and then vanisheth away. 15For that ye [ought] to say, If the Lord will, we shall live ,
and do this, or that. 16But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth [it] not, to him it is sin.
COMMUNION VERSE
1 Cor 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That
the Lord Jesus the [same] night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24And when he
had given thanks, he brake [it], and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken
for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25After the same manner also [he took] the
cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do
ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me. 26For as often as ye eat this bread,
and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink [this] cup of the Lord, unworthily,
shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28But let a man examine
himself, and so let him eat of [that] bread, and drink of [that] cup. 29For he that eateth
and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the
Lord’s body. 30For this cause many [are] weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32But when we are
judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
The Lord’s Supper Instituted
Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:14-23; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34
Mark 14:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed [it], and brake [it],
and gave [it] to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27And he took the
cup, and gave thanks, and gave [it] to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28For this is my
blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29But I
say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I
drink {5725} it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
Beware of Deceivers (Full Reward)
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus
Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8Look to yourselves,
that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not
God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your]
house, neither bid him God speed: 11For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of
his evil deeds.
